Meeting of brotherhood with the renewal of the Profession

The retreat we will do in late January / early February will be an important moment for the academic year ( follow detailed program), then I ask you to do everything possible to participate.

The last round of the June 5, 2009 will be a moment of reflection and prayer, as we stand together to renew our profession.

I would ask you to continue praying together in a single chorus, because it is only in unity that we can grow as a fraternity.

In this situation I find myself having to remember that all these initiatives have a cost, according to the rule that we must contribute to the welfare of our fraternity to ensure their independence. Today I try to ask for a contribution of at least € 5 per month (just over one euro per week).
Over the next meeting will be an opportunity to provide such a small contribution.
You can also make a single offer comprehensive year-round to avoid missing.

Thank you for your prayers and fraternal greetings.

Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic

At the opening of the blog of the Society of St. Pius V's Faenza, we begin a journey Common, who is also the memory of those who have been patient witnesses of faith and now rest on hold.
I let the words of Fr Alfonso D'Amato, taken from his latest work "Lay Dominicans, the hope and the beginning of this presence.
;
Lay San Domenico

integral part of the Dominican Family is also the laity of St. Dominic. They are not a pious association aggregate Order; theirs is an authentic apostolic vocation is a call from God to walk in the footsteps of St. Domenico to better realize their own Christian vocation.
It 's a vocation to live in the spirit of Dominic, the love of the truth of the Gospel and zeal for its dissemination, a prophetic vocation in the service of the Word.
Therefore they are not just supporters Dominican Order. Inside they have a functional role of the Order, "share responsibility for building the Kingdom of God" (Lumen Gentium). For them it is recommended the diligent study of the Word of God, active participation in liturgical celebrations, the spirit of penance ..., then they are in the apostolic spirituality of the Order of light, strength, and a new vision of the world nourish and inspire their apostolic commitments.
present in almost every country in the world, are currently in Italy in 6200 brought together about 150 fraternity.
The deep bond that unites the various classes - The unity of vocation and mission - of the Dominican Family is manifested externally through a lively dialogue and close cooperation in the apostolate.
Dialogue and cooperation are a source of mutual enrichment and to ensure more effective apostolic activity of the individual. For this reason, especially at the local level, this dialogue is increasingly intensified, for the purposes of a concrete cooperation for the effective presence of the Order in society. "The good that has been discussed and approved by the community is accomplished more quickly and more easily" (De Vita regulari, I, p.72) There are many
appropriate initiatives to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among the various classes and to encourage their cooperation. At the local level, for example, play, prayer meetings, retreats in common meetings to exchange ideas and experiences, it also works for the cultural training, updating, dissemination of print Dominicans; programs are developed apostolic work to be carried out jointly.
The more intense the dialogue, the more fruitful will be the apostolic action of all. In the Order, as in the Church, is the only mission, but there are different ministries. In the Dominican Family is the same purpose, specific is the task of every class. For this reason the need for cooperation is felt more strongly, as is the living conscience of the complementarity of the various classes in the conduct of that mission.
