Photo Tour of Tuscany "Le Crete Senesi (Chapter II)

Today we will talk about another magical place where you can get some of the best postcards of Tuscany. This is the area that lies between Taverne d'Arbia and Asciano south of Siena better known as "Crete Senesi".

recommend to lovers of photography visit this area in the period between April and August as most of the fields in this area are devoted to crops of wheat, and is then presented in all its glory .

To visit this area is to start from Siena and follow the direction Bettolle-Rome, at 5 minutes from motorway exit find Taverne D'Arbia.

Taverne D'Arbia
is unfortunately an ugly town, a horror of modernization so do not Pareis in this town because there is nothing interesting to photograph unless he is not interested in the monstrosities that the mayors of this town have left to build. So follow the direction Asciano and just outside the village you will see a beautiful road is lost in the rolling hills through the Sienese area called "Le Crete Lunari" (because they resemble the lunar landscape) (see the last two photos published below).

Track up to Asciano, the landscape you'll love!

Keeping Soda Cold For A Party

Photo Tour of Tuscany" The Valdorcia (Chapter I)

Dear friends,

inform you that I will open this new section of the blog dedicated to lovers of photography, where I will tell you which are places, from my point of view, most are worth a visit for great photos of Tuscany:

La Foce - Valdorcia area - recommended period of May to September

La Foce is
a small town located a few kilometers from Montepulciano Valdorcia in full. In this town is the Villa of the writer Iris Origo , who during the years of World War II helped significantly to the population of the area's first school building and the first hospital for farmers in the area.

La Villa you can visit in the mornings and afternoons only on Saturdays, so if you have time I recommend a visit to this beautiful estate which will see some pictures below:

From the Villa side a beautiful road that is lost in the hills of the Valdorcia and leading to the village of Bagno Vignoni. The route also passes through a small brewery called the Valdorcia Olmaia, and in which there is a great craft beer.

In this area of \u200b\u200bthe Tuscan wheat is grown so if you visit these places during the months of May and June you can take spectacular pictures of the green fields of wheat and poppies. Also in this area you can get yourself the famous image of Tuscany you will see below

The winter months are also beautiful, the photo you see below I took me a month of December A couple of years ago.

hope that this new section is your pleasure,

Sincerely

Margie

Getting around in Tuscany

Dear Friends

received many e-mails from fans the blog wondering what the best way to discover Tuscany and especially if it is necessary or not to travel by car, for this reason I am attaching the following information:

1 - In the event that your trip provides only the visit of Florence City and a day dedicated to Siena and San Gimignano I advise avoiding the car! Florence is a relatively small town that should be known on foot, on the other hand, access to cars in the historic city center is not allowed so we rented a car to see Florence not only would be an unnecessary expense but also you would have parking problems . Being a city of 1500 is not prepared logistically with sufficient parking and parking lots. Communications with

Siena and San Gimigano are excellent and there are buses every hour.

2 - If ye will know the real Tuscany, small towns and beautiful countryside is essential to travel by car, and that the only way you can learn the most beautiful places in the region where no public transport you could take.

As always I hope this information will be helpful in preparing your trip! Greetings

The Tuscan Sun Festival in Tuscany Eating Fish

Dear Friends

Today I want to recommend a restaurant in Umbria a few km from Tuscany, specifically in the town of Passignano sul Trasimeno . The restaurant is called Fischia del Merlo is a local historic and very elegant for years considered the best fish restaurant in the area. The owner goes every day with his truck to buy fish in coastal areas.

I recommend this place because in Tuscany unless you find yourself in coastal areas, it is virtually impossible to eat fresh fish and well cooked, so for all who are vacationing in areas Montepulciano and Cortona , this place should be an essential step and should true for those who have decided to include in your travel plans a visit to the beautiful region of Umbria.

Keep in mind that the Fischia del Merlo is not a cheap restaurant, two dishes, dessert and a good white wine you can go quietly to 40 euros per person.

For those who choose to recommend this place to try the "Tuna Tartare", "the Cinnamon Lemon Sorbetto "and the excellent white wine" Guerriero "

As always I hope this information will be useful,

Sincerely

Gio
